Lyonesse is a privacy-focused workspace that handles recording, transcription, summarization, and document analysis entirely on-device. It supports live recordings, imported audio/video files, and system audio capture on Mac. The app uses Apple Speech or downloadable models like Parakeet and Qwen 3 for local processing, ensuring no data leaves the device. Users can generate customizable summaries (concise, bullets, action items), chat across their entire library of transcripts, PDFs, and images, and organize content into Projects. Features include full-text search, speaker labels, calendar integration for live captions, and export options to PDF or text with action items sent to Apple Reminders. It works offline and requires no account creation, offering a free tier with optional subscription or lifetime purchase for unlimited use.

Four things you can do now that weren't in the last few updates' notes: Live translated captions. Pick a language and the translation appears under the live transcript as people speak. It runs on your device with Apple's Translation framework, it's off by default, and any language pack downloads only after you say yes. Custom vocabulary. Add names, product terms and jargon, and Lyonesse uses them when it transcribes. Clean verbatim. Turn on a view that hides the ums and ahs. Your original transcript isn't changed, and the cleaned version carries into exports. Dictate into any Mac app. Hold a shortcut, speak, and the text is pasted where your cursor is. It's off by default, and nothing is sent anywhere. Your recordings and transcripts still stay on your device.
