AlliHat is a native macOS Safari extension that embeds an AI assistant into the browser sidebar. It enables users to interact with webpage content through natural language queries, such as summarizing articles, explaining code blocks, or clarifying legal documents, all without leaving the current tab. The tool features an ‘Agent Mode’ capable of clicking links, filling forms, and navigating pages automatically. Users can save custom workflows and resume conversations based on specific URLs.

The application supports multiple AI providers, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Perplexity, either via direct API keys or through OpenRouter. It also supports Apple Intelligence for on-device processing on compatible Macs, ensuring data privacy by keeping provider keys in local storage and routing requests directly to chosen models without passing through AlliHat’s servers. Built specifically for Safari, it avoids Electron frameworks, offering a lightweight, privacy-first experience with no analytics or tracking.
