opchat is an iOS application designed to consolidate access to multiple large language models while emphasizing user privacy and data sovereignty. The app supports a “Bring Your Own Keys” model, allowing users to connect endpoints from providers such as OpenAI (GPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), DeepSeek, Azure, and others via standard API keys. Alternatively, it enables fully offline operation by running GGUF models directly on the device through Ollama or local inference engines, ensuring that sensitive data never leaves the phone.

Key features include custom persona creation, where users define system prompts, personality traits, and knowledge bases to tailor AI behavior. The interface offers extensive customization options, including themes inspired by other apps, font selection, and layout adjustments. Built-in utilities extend functionality beyond text chat, incorporating web search integration (via Serper or Tavily), image generation and editing, voice input/output, and context memory across sessions. Users can organize chats into projects, pin important threads, and export history in Markdown or JSON formats.

Privacy is central to opchat’s architecture: the developer does not collect, store, or have access to user conversations or API keys, which are encrypted locally. There are no subscriptions, middlemen, or analytics trackers. The app also supports Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for extending capabilities with custom tools. While it aggregates third-party AI services, content safety and accuracy remain the responsibility of the respective model providers.
