Thoth is an iPhone and iPad application designed for private audio transcription and meeting assistance. The core value proposition centers on data sovereignty: all local recording and transcription occur on-device without uploading to external servers. The app supports 99 languages with auto-detection and features neural speaker identification for up to eight participants. For users requiring advanced processing, Thoth allows the integration of third-party cloud AI services via user-supplied API keys. Before sending data to these providers, the app performs on-device anonymization by replacing sensitive information like names and phone numbers with tokens. Users can generate structured summaries, translate text, and chat with their transcripts using either local models (such as Apple Intelligence) or their chosen cloud provider. The app includes features like live transcription, custom vocabulary support, and export options in formats such as PDF, Markdown, and SRT subtitles. Data synchronization across devices is handled privately via iCloud Keychain for API keys and library content.

Your prep notes now come with you to the interview. Notes you write on your Mac arrive on iPhone and iPad through iCloud. Open them straight from the recording screen and tick off each question as you cover it. You can also delete them here, and Thoth asks first, because that removes them from your Mac too. Better bug reports: when something goes wrong, a report sent from Settings can now attach the app log, so we can trace the problem back to its cause. It is only attached if you turn it on, and it never contains audio or transcript text. Also improved: the text formatting buttons now have spoken names for VoiceOver and Voice Control.

See what your own API key costs. When you use your own key for cloud AI, Thoth now shows what each request actually cost, taken from the figures your provider reports rather than an estimate. Settings keeps a running total per provider and per month. It stays on your device and is never synced. Prices are fetched online, so they stay current without waiting for an app update. Anything that runs on your device stays free, and says so. Some models think for minutes before answering. You can now skip the reasoning and get an answer straight away, and the reasoning panel follows along as the model thinks instead of staying stuck on its first few lines. Thoth for iPhone and iPad also gets its own release notes: you can now read what changed in Settings, and see the highlights after an update. Fixes: Cancelling an AI request now really cancels it. It used to keep running in the background, so you were still charged for a response you had abandoned. Cancelling a summary could overwrite an existing summary with an empty one, and could offer to save that empty result to Notes. The first section of a summary could disappear from the result, depending on how the model formatted its answer. The transcription engine shown under a recording title used its internal identifier, which was long enough to wrap onto a second line. The app is called Thoth, and now says so. It installed itself as ThothiOS on your Home Screen. You can report a bug or ask for help straight from Settings. Version 1.0 shipped with no way to reach us from inside the app. The subscription screen could show two different currencies side by side when your device language and your App Store country disagreed. Thoth now asks for a review at most once a year, and only after the app has actually been useful to you.
