Searchable: AI Image Search

Acerca de esta app

Searchable is a macOS application designed to simplify image discovery within local libraries. It utilizes on-device processing to ensure user privacy, avoiding cloud uploads. The app supports three primary search methods: text-based queries, finding similar images by example, and semantic search for conceptual matching. Recent updates have optimized performance through a rebuilt search index using USearch HNSW, resulting in faster queries and reduced memory usage. Indexing processes for image encoding and OCR now run in a single off-main-thread pass to improve responsiveness. Additional improvements include smoother grid scrolling with display-size thumbnail decoding, the ability to rebuild OCR text indices without recomputing image vectors, and navigation enhancements like ESC key support for stepping back through selections.
