It supports document analysis for PDFs, Word files, and Markdown with automatic RAG retrieval, along with streaming output and read-aloud capabilities. Additional AI tools include Image Playground for generating images (requiring iPhone 15 Pro+), AI Cutout for subject isolation, Photo Search using natural language, Privacy Redaction for sensitive information, Meeting Recorder for transcription and summarization, Handwriting OCR, and Live Translation.

Sage defaults to Apple Foundation Models on compatible devices but also supports open-source MLX models like Llama 3.2 and Qwen2.5, ranging from 0.7 GB to 2 GB. It integrates deeply with iOS through home-screen widgets, share extensions, and Siri App Intents. The interface supports Liquid Glass design on iOS 26+ and is localized in multiple languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
