PrivacyLLM is an AI assistant designed specifically for iPhone users who prioritize data privacy. Unlike most AI applications that require sending data to external servers, PrivacyLLM runs entirely on the device’s GPU, ensuring that conversations, documents, and reasoning never leave your phone. This architecture eliminates the need for accounts, cloud subscriptions, or tracking, making it fully functional even in airplane mode.

The app supports various interaction modes, including fast responses and a ‘Thinking’ mode that displays reasoning steps. Users can chat with PDFs by importing them for on-device indexing, use Apple’s on-device speech recognition for voice input, and convert text or audio into podcasts. For productivity, it can execute iOS actions like setting calendar events or reminders, though these are disabled by default and require confirmation.

Key privacy features include Face ID locking, local encrypted storage, and zero telemetry. The app allows users to select from a current list of models downloaded directly to the device. While optional web search is available via DuckDuckGo, it sends only keyword queries, not conversation history. PrivacyLLM is free, contains no ads, and requires a recent iPhone with sufficient memory for larger models.
