PocketModel is a privacy-focused AI chat application designed for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users who prefer local processing over cloud services. The app operates without requiring user accounts or sending normal chat requests to external inference servers, ensuring that chat generation and history remain stored on the device.

On hardware supporting Apple Intelligence, PocketModel utilizes Apple Foundation Models directly without the need for downloads. For other devices, it provides a curated catalog of local GGUF models, highlighting device-fit recommendations while allowing access to deeper filters for advanced users. Key features include Thinking Mode support, prompt suggestions, search functionality across chats, and the ability to edit, regenerate, or fork previous prompts. Users can also attach images where supported by local model workflows.

The interface distinguishes between bundled and user-imported models in the Discover and Library sections. Advanced users can browse and install any GGUF file directly from HuggingFace repositories. Network access is strictly limited to explicit actions like downloading models or refreshing catalogs. The app includes redacted diagnostics exports that exclude personal data, prompts, and conversation text, reinforcing its commitment to user privacy.
