Najimi: Private AI Companion

Acerca de esta app

Najimi is a private AI companion application designed for iOS and macOS that prioritizes local processing over cloud connectivity. Developed by ShugoAI LLC, the app allows users to interact with an expressive AI avatar through text, voice, reactions, and motion. Unlike many cloud-based chat applications, Najimi runs locally on the user’s device, enabling offline usage and providing greater control over data, models, and personality settings.

Key capabilities include deep customization of the companion’s appearance, voice, background, and chat style. Users can import their own VRM characters and adjust system prompts to shape interactions ranging from friendly conversation to creative assistance. The application also includes a document reader feature, allowing users to chat with files directly. To support these functions, Najimi bundles local Large Language Model (LLM) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) models, resulting in a larger download size compared to standard apps. Recent updates have added a voiceover-first UI to improve accessibility.
