Ask BONBON: Electrician NEC AI

Acerca de esta app

Ask BONBON (formerly Ask NETA) serves as a specialized AI assistant designed for electrical professionals, including apprentices, journeymen, master electricians, inspectors, contractors, and solar installers. The application provides immediate access to National Electrical Code (NEC) references with plain-language explanations, eliminating the need to manually search physical code books. Key features include smart troubleshooting capabilities where users can describe problems or upload photos of installations to receive diagnostic assistance and code-compliant fixes. A notable addition in the BONBON Plus tier allows users to upload electrical blueprints as PDFs or photos; the app then generates a Plan Overview detailing square footage, suggested panel sizes, NEC 220 load calculations, circuit counts, and rough materials lists. Additionally, users can upload photos of rough-in or finished work to receive inspection reports with approval ratings and findings checked against the NEC, helping to prevent callbacks and red tags. The app includes a comprehensive suite of electrical calculators for conduit fill, voltage drop, box fill, wire sizing, and more. It also supports multilingual queries in Spanish, French, and other languages to facilitate crew communication. While free to download, advanced features like blueprint uploads and detailed plan overviews require a subscription via a 14-day free trial.
